About us

Becca Gasperoni, MA, LMFT, PMH-C

I’m Becca and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist specializing in pregnancy + postpartum mental health, anxiety, depression, and trauma recovery. I approach my work with understanding, humor, compassion, and a deep respect for your unique story. Together, we’ll explore both conscious and unconscious beliefs and experiences to create lasting change. I believe that when we create a trusting, nurturing, and safe space for all aspects of yourself to be known, you’ll often find that you have had access to a deep inner wisdom all along.

I’m passionate about supporting others on their journey, especially those who are navigating pregnancy and postpartum, and those who are hoping to learn tools to cope with anxiety and heal from the impacts of trauma. Together, we’ll work to equip you with the tools you need to enjoy your life, work, and relationships, and to move through the world with a greater sense of purpose.

Prior to opening Nurture Therapy, I gained extensive clinical experience at a number of non-profit organizations in Santa Barbara, including Community Counseling and Education Center where I worked with families, couples, adults, and children. I also worked as a school-based therapist at CALM, where I supported families and children and focused on the treatment of complex trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges. In addition to my training in Perinatal Mental Health, I'‘m trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), two evidence-based approaches to the treatment of trauma. I also currently work as a primary therapist at a residential treatment center dedicated to the treatment of Eating Disorders.

A contemporary approach

My approach is supportive, collaborative, and tailored to your unique strengths and goals. I’ll support you with compassion while also challenging you to push past the discomfort of growth, with the goal of achieving greater connection, joy, and purpose. Through a combined approach of mindfulness-based, cognitive behavioral, and depth-oriented frameworks, I’ll help you challenge lifelong patterns, address old wounds and traumas, and create a deeper and more compassionate sense of self.

what is depth-oriented therapy?

Depth-oriented therapy strives to help you understand and make sense of conscious and unconscious beliefs, experiences, and patterns. This approach encompasses psychodynamic, Jungian, and attachment-based therapies. We’ll work to help you identify and make meaning of past experiences in order to gain insight and perspective on your unique story and journey. I believe that you are more than your symptoms; you are a culmination of your experiences, beliefs, passions, and relationships.

We’ll gently explore the root causes of the symptoms or distress that you’re experiencing, and tend to past and current parts of yourself. We’ll help you achieve balance in your life through a renewed sense of trust in your own intuition and wisdom. Together we’ll shine a light on parts of yourself that have been hidden or ignored, and work toward a richer and embodied perspective on your story.

In the therapy room, this can look like leaning into image, metaphor, dreams, creativity, and intuition. I believe that once we create a trusting, nurturing, and safe space for all aspects of yourself to be known, you’ll find that you’ve had access to a deep inner wisdom all along.

Getting started with a therapist can feel overwhelming. Let’s connect to see if we’re the right fit.
